Coles is a favorite for many reasons. Firstly, the food has always been really good. Secondly, the portions were filling and the menu items were fantastic. And, most importantly, as a child coming into Los Angeles on the Red Car to do shopping, a meal at Cole's was a must. My favorite memories are by far going to Cole's with my dad. This was the best of Los Angeles in the 1950's and 60's, before most of the freeways and suburbian malls. I miss the odor of beer and cigar smoke; them were the days.
